Nowadays Valentine’s Day is a day about love. On this day, young people will send flowers, chocolate, or cards to their love. It is a happy and romantic day, but the day is originated from an impressive story.<\/p>\n
In the third century BC, Rome was in war, and in order to supply more soldiers to the battlefield, the tyrant, Nero Claudius, asked all the men of the right age to join the army. In this way, so many people had to separate from their love and the whole country was covered with lovesickness. But the tyrant got angry with it, and prohibited the marriage, however, he couldn’t prohibit love. Many young people came for Valentine and asked for his help, so Valentine presided over the weddings for these loves. For a time, the exciting news spread across the whole country and inspired the people. But the tyrant got angry again, and the result was Valentine being sent into jail. Before long, the priest was beheaded by the tyrant on February 14th, 270 BC.<\/p>\n
In memory of the brave priest, people celebrated on that day he died. Many centuries passed, people had already forgotten the tyrant of Nero Claudius, but Valentine was still in people’s mind.<\/p>\n
